We teach
6 Social/Ballroom Dances whose styles and cultural birthplaces
vary as dramatically as our students.
First, we teach the Merengue which comes from the Dominican
Republic. This great social dance is a fast and furious way
to introduce our students to the idea of dancing with a partner.
They learn a variety of turns and moves while focusing on
their
hip-shaking Latin action.
Then comes the Foxtrot from vaudeville times in early twentieth
century USA. Rhythms develop a little more structure and students
begin to understand and work on the grace and control necessary
to execute this classic Ballroom Dance.
